Having spent thirty-two years in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Amburg’s extensive hands-on experience in many areas of the energy markets is a key asset to The Dow Corporation. For the past twenty-four of those years, he has enjoyed playing a critical role in senior management and trading. In each position he developed and implemented trading strategies for both commercial customers and proprietary speculation.
While at Eastex Energy, Inc., he worked in pipeline construction, gas measurement, and ultimately marketed, managed, and maintained the firm’s sale contracts with fifty LDCs.
Mr. Amburg then joined Neste Trading (USA), Inc., where he served as Senior Vice President and General Manager, supervising the gas division’s growth strategy, pipeline gathering projects, and trading operations in both cash and futures markets.
At Tauber Oil Company, he implemented the start up of a new gas division and as Vice President Natural Gas, he directed futures and basis trading as well as storage management and long term contract negotiation.
From 1998 to 2012, Mr. Amburg served as President of Petroleum Equities LLC, investing in oil and gas production, and starting US Power and Gas, which served over 150,000 residential and commercial customers in Ohio and Pennsylvania.
Since 2012, Mr. Amburg has been the Vice President of The Dow Corporation-Houston Division, charged with developing new clearing clients throughout the country and working with those clients to develop trading strategies using the DVA system.
In January 2015, he became the Chief Investment Officer of Dow Asset Management.
